NBA WOMEN FORUM 4TH ANNUAL GENERAL CONFERENCE HELD IN ABUJA
By Onoriode Etatsemi: The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Women Forum has held its 4th Annual General Conference with the theme "Beyond the Balance Sheet: Redefining Success for the female lawyers. In her welcome address, the Chairperson of the forum, Mrs Chinyere Okorocha threw more lights on the structure of the NBA Women Forum and why the Forum was created. In their various goodwill messages, the First lady of Ogun State, the Attorney General & Commissioner for Justice Lagos state, President of the African Women Lawyers Association, National President of FIDA, described success of a woman to encompass personal growth, inclusivity and the pivotal role mentorship played in nurturing talents, fostering professional growth and breaking down barriers for advancement. The keynote speaker, Mrs Bolanle Austen-Peters, a lawyer, entrepreneur, multiple award-winning movie producer described success as not only 'financial' but a personal fulfilment that transcends a traditional method to thrive in diverse roles within the legal sphere towards equality & excellence. According to her, these included liking yourself, liking what you do and liking how you do it. The event featured a total of 6 different panellists where seasoned panellists discussed extensively topics ranging from Technology, Employer and Employee Relations, Advocacy, Mentorship, Networking, Barriers to success, Marketing, Health and fitness, work life balance and Criminology. Highpoint of the panel discussions was the topic Etiquette, Panashe, and Personal Branding where a panellist, the immediate past Attorney General of Delta State Mr Isiah Bozimo( SAN) described a woman of style , aura and elegance as someone with an iron fist in a velvet glove. The Climax of the event were grand dinner, dancing, photographs and entertainment, where a delegate from Delta State, Mrs Ejiro Akpimegin won a piece of furniture which was the lottery grand prize

PRISON VISIT: DELTA CHIEF JUDGE, HON JUSTICE DIAI GRANTS FREEDOM TO TWO INMATES AT WARRI CENTRE
The State Chief Judge thanked God for the successful conclusion of the first quarter visit to Warri prison. She lauded the State Attorney -General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, SAN, the Controller of Warri Correctional Centre and his officials, the Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary, the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) and other stakeholders including the Chairman and members of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Warri for their support.

The Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, Mr. Omamuzo Erebe, who presented two (handover notes) to the Attorney -General, officially welcomed him to the Ministry and pledged the unwavering commitment and support of the staff of the Ministry. Erebe said that he has transmitted the affairs of the Ministry to the Attorney -General, adding that he had been overseeing the affairs of the Ministry since May 2023 when the tenure of the former Attorney -General elapsed following the end of the Okowa administration. The Solicitor-General reiterated that the Governor was very keen on the Administration of Criminal Justice Law and the Administration of Civil Justice Law.
Delta new Attorney General, Ohwovoriole takes Oat of office, harps on adherence to Rule of Law
The newly sworn in Attorney -General and Commissioner for Justice of Delta State, Ekemejero Ohwovoriole , SAN, has said that the administration of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori would adhere to rule of law in the governance of the state while calling on Deltans to sustain their adherence to rule of law at all times. The Attorney -General stated that he would build on the foundation and achievements of his predecessor, Mr. Isaiah Bozimo, SAN for the overall benefits of the state government and Deltans in particular. While saying that he would prioritize the welfare of staff of the Ministry, Mr. Ohwovoriole solicited their support and cooperation to enable him succeed in his assignments. Ohwovoriole recalled that the State Governor had during their swearing in, emphasised the resolve of his administration to ensure that the Administration of Criminal Justice Law and the Administration of Civil Justice Law played pivotal role in the policy direction of his administration.
