The Ministry of Justice has reiterated its commitment to staff motivation, unity and institutional excellence with the successful hosting of its 2025 Annual Christmas Get-Together, which brought together officers from across the Ministry to reflect on the year’s achievements and strengthen workplace cohesion.
The end-of-year event, now a sustained tradition of the Ministry for the past four years, provided an avenue for staff to unwind from official responsibilities, celebrate collective accomplishments and reaffirm a shared vision of effective service delivery and professional excellence.

Speaking at the occasion, the Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, SAN, explained that the annual celebration goes beyond merriment, noting that it is deliberately designed to recognise hard work, dedication, promote diligence and inspire personnel to consistently give their best in the service of the Ministry and the state.
In line with this objective, the Attorney-General unveiled a staff recognition initiative aimed at appreciating and rewarding officers who demonstrated exceptional performance during the year. He emphasised that sustained recognition of excellence remains a vital tool for boosting morale, productivity and professionalism within the public service.
A major highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of a brand-new deep freezer and a cash gift to a retired staff member, Mrs. Evelyn Owede, in recognition of her years of meritorious service to the Ministry. The award was presented by the attorney -General on behalf of the Ministry of Justice.
Several other staff members across various departments, units and zonal offices of the Ministry were also honoured with brand-new deep freezers and plaques for their outstanding contributions during the year.
In his remarks, the Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary, Omamuzo Erebe, SAN, lauded the initiative, describing staff recognition as a powerful motivator that fosters sustained commitment, professionalism and improved service delivery.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, some of the award recipients expressed gratitude to the Ministry for the recognition, pledging renewed dedication and enhanced commitment to their duties in the coming year.
