
The Delta State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, SAN, on Friday paid glowing tributes to the late Hon. Justice Ifeoma Ebun Okogwu during a Valedictory Court Session held in Asaba.
Justice Okogwu, who passed away on November 23, 2025, was remembered for her distinguished career in the Delta State Judiciary and her dedicated service across several magistrate districts in the state.
Speaking at the session, the Attorney-General described the late jurist as a disciplined, principled, and highly professional judicial officer whose career was defined by an unwavering commitment to justice and the rule of law.
According to Ohwovoriole, Justice Okogwu discharged her duties with exceptional diligence, integrity, and a deep sense of responsibility, leaving a lasting impact on the judiciary and the wider legal community in Delta State.
“I need to state clearly that Her Lordship revealed herself as a reputable judicial officer trained in a rigorous judicial culture that emphasized discipline, clarity of reasoning, and deep respect for the judicial office,” he said.
The Attorney-General condemned
the circumstances surrounding her death, disclosing that the Delta State Police Command had concluded investigations into the matter. He revealed that three suspects have been arrested and arraigned in court, assuring that the state government remains committed to due process and the rule of law.
Ohwovoriole extended heartfelt condolences to the Okogwu’s family, the Delta State Judiciary, and members of the legal profession, urging them to draw comfort from the exemplary legacy of service and integrity left behind by the late Justice.

The valedictory session was attended by the legal community across the state, judicial officers, senior lawyers,law officers from the Ministry of Justice, court staff, and family members, who gathered to honour her memory and reflect on a life devoted to justice and public service.
