Delta Attorney-General lauds performance of state’s Justice Ministry

Delta State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Isaiah Bozimo, has said the state’s Ministry of Justice has contributed significantly towards the strategic wealth creation, industrialisation and Infrastructural development of the state.

Bozimo stated this in Asaba during an interactive session between the State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, and the State Counsels in the Ministry of Justice.

The commissioner disclosed that the interactive session was organised to evaluate the activities of the ministry since August 2021 when he assumed office as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.

He said that the ministry had continued to maintain high level of professionalism in providing legal advice to ensure that the state got maximum benefits from its service delivery.

Bozimo stated that since August 2021, the ministry had participated in numerous negotiations, culminating in the execution of several Public- Private Partnership (PPP) agreements for the industrialisation of the state.

The ministry has also made considerable moves towards the realisation of the SMART agenda of the Okowa administration and has always provided vital legal support to the state government and the people of the state, he said.

The Attorney-General noted that as part of its steadfast commitments to ensuring the rule of law in the state, the Ministry of Justice had introduced initiatives to enhance the capabilities and competence of legal officers so as to meet the present and future challenges.

He explained that when he assumed office as Attorney-General, one of his inner drives was to bring out the best in every officer within the ministry, adding that with that goal in mind, the ministry under his watch launched a skill competence framework to ensure that all legal officers received first-rate training in advocacy, advisory work, contract drafting and case management.
