
The Delta State Ministry of Justice has inaugurated a Civil Service Unit tasked with handling all cases before the National Industrial Court involving the Delta State Government and its agencies, in a move aimed at strengthening the state’s capacity in labour and industrial relations litigation.
The unit comprises Oghenemine Stephen Onoriose, Esq.; Mrs. Elvon Edirin Ezie Esq.; Ugochukwu Paul Okolotu, Esq.; Funkekeme Junior Solomon Esq.; and Oghenechavwuko Agbatutu Esq.
Inaugurating the unit, the Hon. Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, SAN, said the initiative was aimed at strengthening the state’s legal capacity in managing labour and industrial relations disputes, particularly employer, employee matters and other labour-related litigations involving the state and its agencies.
He urged members of the unit to demonstrate diligence, professionalism, and commitment in the discharge of their duties, stressing that they must be well-grounded in National Industrial Court laws and guided strictly by the provisions and limits of the law.
Responding on behalf of the unit, the Head of the Civil Service Unit, Mrs. Elvon Edirin Ezie, expressed gratitude to the Attorney-General for the confidence reposed in the team and assured that the unit would carry out its mandate efficiently and in the best interest of the state.
