CJN Swears In Omamuzo Erebe, Delta Solicitor-General, and 56 Others as Senior Advocates of Nigeria
The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Hon. Justice Kudirat Motonmori Olatokunbo Kekere-Ekun, on Monday, 29th September 2025, administered the oath of office on Omamuzo Erebe, Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary of the Delta State Ministry of Justice, alongside 56 other newly elevated Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN).

The ceremony, held at the Main Court Hall of the Supreme Court, formed part of the special court session marking the commencement of the 2025/2026 Legal Year.
In her address, the CJN emphasized that the SAN rank is awarded only after an intensive and highly competitive process, underscoring the expectations placed on those who attain the prestigious title. She noted that the rank represents not only outstanding professional achievement but also an enduring commitment to ethical standards and the integrity of the legal profession.
Justice Kekere-Ekun urged the honourees to embody these principles with dignity, discipline, and responsibility.

The CJN also commended the judicial systems of Delta, Borno, and Bayelsa States for their early and commendable adoption of technological reforms, highlighting them as trailblazers in the ongoing modernization of Nigeria’s judiciary.
The event featured goodwill messages from the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Lateef Fagbemi, SAN; Mr. Wole Olanipekun, SAN, who spoke on behalf of the Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (BOSAN); the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN; and Mr. Theophilus Esan, SAN, representing the newly conferred Senior Advocates.
It is noteworthy that Omamuzo Erebe, SAN, is the first civil servant in Delta State to be elevated to the prestigious rank since the creation of the state.
